Hi, I'm Sam!

Allow me to reintroduce myself - hey there, I'm Sam! If you're newer to my blog, then welcome, and if you've read my blog posts in the past, allow me to reintroduce myself, and reacquaint you with my life. I'm a modern day Carrie Bradshaw, or at least I like to think so, balancing being in your mid twenties, having a 9-5 job, adulting, and all the in between's. When COVID hit, my life flipped. I went from working a job freelancing in makeup artistry, to working a 9-5 as a licensed Insurance Agent. Talk about polar opposite! However, through my passion for writing, I've always found a niche for that as well. Whether journaling, blogging, or now, my OOO group.

When I don't know where to start with writing, I often go with a brain dump. So let's dive into a little brain dump of where I've been...

Personally

Life has been a true whirlwind this past year. A rollercoaster of emotions isn't even truly the best way to describe it - more or less a tsunami of emotions ebbing and flowing. From grief, and heartbreak, to pure joy, and love. It's wild that you can experience so much darkness in one year, to have all that darkness turn into such a wonderful sunshine.

Traveling has been such an essential part of 2023 for me, and I'm loving every minute of it. I'm often back and forth from Tennessee, but never say never to where to's next! Prioritizing organization this year is something I am taking pride in; a clear home, and planner = a clear mind.

Professionally

Professionally, I'd like to pat myself on the back and say I think I'm doing a damn good job. As I stated, I do actively work for an insurance company, as an agent, and it's been great. Stressful? Loads. However, it's stability for me, and helping my clients makes a gal happy!

I'd like to add, I've been leaning into my work routine (which I'll share in a later post), but what helps keep me motivated for my 9-5 is a good, consistent routine, filled with inspiration. Whether I'm listening to personal development podcasts while working, learning new things, or diving into something new, that's definitely been something I've learned to love this year.

OOO Social Circle

If you're reading this, more than likely you're a member of Out of Office Social Circle (if not, you can totally skip this section), but if you're a member, hey girl, thanks for being here 🤗 Out of Office started a little over a year ago, and now has over 1500 members. Which is insane to me. I started OOO as a passion project, and immediately had so much motivation. and inspiration. I was blogging pretty steadily, putting out newsletters, and engaging in our group. However, when June came, and I lost my two fur babes, a big part of that fire inside me dimmed. Now, this is super vulnerable to share on a public platform. However! I know deep down that every single person feels like their fire has dimmed at some point, and I guess all I'm trying to share is I promise, you will find something to reignite that. Anyways, back to the original point of my OOO update!

Recently, I've felt that inspiration towards OOO, and if you're in the group, you've seen the new room relaunch + a new lil cute logo. I expect, but have learned to let go of rigid expectations, leaning into the roots of Out of Office - group interaction, newsletters, and blog posts, and I'm so excited for it to unfold.

Lastly, some soul food...

A little snippet of that warm fuzzy feeling. I think it's important to really romanticize certain and any aspects of your life, and this is just a little blurb of mine. Walks to work in the morning, bubble baths, dim lighting, quality time with my boyfriend, cuddles with my kitty, podcasts, a lit candle, fresh banana bread, and of course, country music.

So, we've hit the end of the brain dump! I like to think, this reintroduction is the best first introduction. It's vulnerable, it's a bit chaotic, and most importantly, completely me. So if you've made it, thank you for reading. More importantly, thanks for coming on this next journey with me!

Until next time friends,
