December Monthly Favorites

Updated: Jan 30

December is definitely one of my favorite months of the year, spending more time than usual with loved ones (well, this year is a little different), all the festive activities, Christmas lights that always bring joy, and reflecting on the year soon to be behind us. 2020 definitely has been quite the year, and that's something we can all agree on.

With Christmas passing I figured we're all looking for products in the new year, besides, who doesn't like hearing about really good products to buy? I know I do, even though it can be a bit dangerous for my bank account. Nonetheless, let's jump into my favorites.

Dr Jart, Cicapair Tigergrass Cream

First off, let me start by saying I definitely discovered this product off TikTok, and couldn't be more glad I pulled the trigger on buying it. This has become my everyday moisturizer for so many reasons, and I find it easy to throw in my bag as well. This moisturizer has so many amazing ingredients that help to sooth the skin, even complexion, and definitely hydrate deeply. The cream comes out pretty thick, and the coloring is green, which helps to even any redness on the skin, which in Winter helps me tremendously. And, of course, my favorite thing about the moisturizer, is it is not greasy or thick feeling on the skin, the cream melts in immediately and almost leaves a bit of a tacky feeling to help prime with whatever you're layering on top.

Drunk Elephant, A-Passioni Retinol

Retinol, my true love. Once introducing retinol into my skincare routine I definitely could not turn back. My boyfriend recently asked me what retinol exactly was, and to put it simple, it's vitamin A, which helps with cell turnover. I can definitely do a post in the future, if anyone's interested. Nonetheless, there are two types, prescription from a term, or OTC, which is what this product is. DE's retinol is very light, yet efficient enough to get the job done for overnight treatment. I use my retinol about 3 times weekly, and exfoliate once a week, now mind you, this is what works for me. Definitely consult your skincare professional about use, but I figured I'd share my favorite OTC.

Anastasia Beverly Hills, Brow Wiz

The cult classic favorite brow pencil for so many. I don't even feel like I need to say much about this product, because most people have used and fell in love just like me. Yet with my "no makeup makeup" I've been doing more recently, I have really been focusing on my brows to frame my face, and it would be a disservice to not include this in my monthly favorites with how much I use it. If I had to pick only five products to use, this would absolutely be one of them.

Milani, Baked Blush 'Rose D'oro'

Milani has hands down always been my favorite drug store brand for blushes. I'm pretty sure I have all four baked blushes within my personal, and business kit. Not to repeat myself as I stated above, but this product also has become a staple in my "no makeup makeup" look. When shopping my stash and finding this blush I thought it would be too dark for my complexion, but gives such a beautiful glow, with a wonderful warmth, I'm obsessed!

KKW, Creme Lipsticks

Another shop my stash find. I bought this bundle when Kylie first came out with them, but didn't really use it. The past few weeks? I've been layering these, and using them with almost every look. They're lightweight, and pigmented, and the nudes go with everylook. Very comfortable to wear, however the wear isn't great, but easy to reapply. My main love of this bundle definitely is 'Kimmie.'

Primula, Ice Coffee Brewer

Call me crazy, but typically I prefer hot coffee over iced, especially in the morning. So spending money on a fancy machine didn't make sense to me, just to brew iced coffee when my Keurig does the job. On cyber Monday, Amazon sucked me in with this recommendation, and I figured why not give it a try, and again, I'm obsessed. I now love having ice coffee after my hot throughout the day as a pick me up - and it's super easy to use. I brew about 2-3 cups of hot coffee, then add 3 teaspoons of coffee grinds, and water and let it sit overnight. Easy!

Simple Modern, 28 oz Tumblr

My water intake has really been slacking, and I'd be lying if I said different, so what did I do? Go to Amazon to buy a cute new water bottle to inspire the drinking habit to come back. Well, 10/10 this did the trick. First off, the cup is so cute, let's admit that. It comes with a second lid aside from the flat top, which is for hot liquids, and two straws. This Tumblr keeps my liquids the temperature I put it in the cup as, forever. I've been finishing 3-4 of these a day since I've gotten it, and boy it's made such a difference. Necessary? No. But was it worth it? Absolutely.

Sunday Forever, Candle Care Kit

If you know me, follow me, or read my blog, you know how obsessed I am with Sunday Forever, & all their cozy goodies. I've been burning candles like crazy, which is nothing new, but I got this kit a few months back, & utilizing it recently has truly changed how my candles burn, and last. Putting each candle out by dipping the wick, and trimming it afterwards. You can google why to care for your candles, but let's just say it's a better bang for your buck, and will last and burn better, and longer.

Forgiving What You Can't Forget,

Lysa Terkeurst

I love books, truly. Between podcasts, and audiobooks, I always have something playing for extra knowledge. This book was recommended to me on Kindle, and I decided to get it off Audible with my credits (love love loved Audible). I have found this book so deeply enriching; discussing how to forgive and process situations, people, things, and past issues with grace and humility. The author does an amazing job at siting Scripture to reflect what she is saying as well. I would definitely recommend this book if after reading the description it rings true to your soul.

Well, that wasn't too bad was it? Hopefully you were able to find something that peaked your interests, or you could utilize in your everyday life. I'd love to hear what your favorites are, or what you've been obsessed with recently. Feel free to message me on socials, or comment below to let me know. & until the next post, be well, & happy holiday season!
